Radio Drama

Our current project which our class is working on is making a Radio Drama. The class was divided into two groups. A separate group for the boys and a separate group for the girls. Our piece is “Romeo and Juliet”. This is a challenging piece considering that all of the group’s members are the same genders. So, it will be hard to portray Romeo for the girl’s group, and it will be hard to portray Juliet for our group. Here’s the good part, our teacher allowed us to modify the story of Romeo and Juliet. Our script writer, being a high level wizard (he has chuunibyou), decided to make a script of making the characters in the story to have powers. Our group agreed with the script and decided to go with it (we all have chuunibyous deep inside our hearts).

I’m in charge of the sound effects and editing. I make film/photo editing frequently, but I haven’t made sound editings. So, it will also be a challenge for me because I mostly have 5% maybe of experience when it comes to sound editings. Hopefully, I have a classmate that’ll assist me in editing the radio drama. Our job is to add background music and sound effects to the radio drama. This is going to be hard but at the same time, it’s quite fun to do.

Recording is actually a lot of fun. I feel like we’re dubbing characters in an anime studio. Mostly, before the voice actors of our class perfect the dub, they would actually laugh a lot because of their lines. As a result, we ended up doing many re-takes. Maybe I’ll consider posting our radio drama when it’s finished. I can’t wait till it gets done.

Musaigen no Phantom World – First Impression [Episode 1]

You can’t believe everything you see, or can’t see, for that matter. In Musaigen no Phantom World, Phantoms, beings that blur the line between illusion and reality, wander around right under the noses of unsuspecting humans. Their origins are mysterious and few can see themーthat is, until a research facility bombing spreads a virus that grants the ability to. Humans with special powers are given the task of sealing the troublemaking Phantoms.

Haruhiko Ichijou is one such Phantom Hunter. Not a very good one, however. Possessing a wealth of useless knowledge, a tendency to go off on tangents, and a rather slow Phantom-sealing ability, he and his rambunctious teammate Mai Kawakami are at the bottom of the Phantom Hunter ladder at Hosea Academy. In order to become stronger, they recruit new teammates and develop new powers, only to stumble upon secrets surrounding Phantoms and the circumstances surrounding the mysterious bombing of the Alayashiki Research Facility.

This series has been airing on for some time now and I actually watched the first episode when it first aired. For now, I decided to stop for a while and wait for more episodes to air, so that I can marathon the whole series if it airs more episodes or if the series finishes. The reason why I watched this one is because it’s made by one of my favorite studios, KyoAni.

This anime kind of reminds me of Noragami. Well, because of the whole Phantom things. So, the phantom’s origins are still unknown and quite mysterious. They were originally supposed to be invisible to the human eyes, until a research facility bombing spreads a virus making the phantoms visible to the human eyes. It seems like the people in this anime are on drugs. Seeing weird creatures and stuffs.

There are so called “Phantom Hunters” which are given the task in sealing the phantoms. Again, pretty much like Noragami and combine it with a little of Charlotte, with the ability things. The main character is a Phantom Hunter, Haruhiko Ichijou. Though, he’s not the op main character type.

KyoAni did something unusual to this anime. The fan service is quite frequent and there are some anime clichés. For example, the typical cliché where a girl trips from the stairs and the main character tries to save her. Haruhiko (the main character) got to avoid the cliché where she would land on him and him touching her breasts, but it turned into something different. It turned into him seeing the girl’s pantsu. So, it turned into avoiding an anime cliché and resulting into an another anime cliché.

Another fan service is at the last part of episode 1. Where Mai Kawakami does the limbo scene. I’m not gonna go into a more detailed reaction about the last part, but all I can say is that it defied the law of physics. Seriously, wtf KyoAni.

I read in some comments that people already dropped after episode 1. For me, it’s quite enjoyable despite the fan service. Maybe I’ll see for myself if the anime airs more episodes and see if the anime is really worth to watch.

360° Video

As me and my classmates are doing another project. We decided to take a break for a while. One of my classmate started to play osu!, on the other hand, my other classmate watched something on Youtube. I noticed something in the video that my classmate watched. He was moving the video 360° with the use of a mouse. I was like “what the hell,” in my mind and I asked him what did he just watched. Turns out that it was actually a 360° video, which I never heard about. He said that how the hell did I not know about that because it has been going on around for a long time now. I said that I must be living under a rock or something.

Then I suddenly remembered that I watched something similar to a 360° video. Turns out that it was actually a 360° video all along.

The video was actually Clash of Clans in 360°:

I watched this video on my tablet and I didn’t know what to do. Maybe my tablet doesn’t support 360° Videos. Anyway, I’m impressed on what technology can now do, despite that it happened a long time ago.

Fan Art: Yato and Nora – Noragami/Noragami Aragoto

I was inspired to draw this because of the opening of Noragami Aragoto. The opening of Noragami Aragoto is such a really really good opening. I actually drew this a long time ago, but I just wanted to post this to show it to you guys.

I think I messed up Nora a little. My friend also thinks that I drew Nora a little different. Maybe it’s because of the hair, I think I drew the hair a little bigger. I didn’t decide to correct it because I can always re-draw again. There’s always room for improvement. Yeah, as always, sorry again if it’s blurry.

MMORPG Onigiri Gets A TV Anime Adaptation

Japanese game developer CyberStep announced on Wednesday that a television anime of its MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) Onigiri has been green-lit. The series is scheduled to air from April 2016 on the Tokyo MX and BS Fuji television networks.

Onigiri is developed by CyberStep and was launched for the PC in Japan in December 2013 (after alpha and beta test periods earlier in the year). It began service in North America in July 2014. Console editions were released on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 in October 2015.

Synopsis from Cyberstep

Onigiri thrusts its players into mystical Japan, a land filled with mythical creatures of Japanese legend. Starting as a lone Oni, players fight against the malevolent influence of the Kamikui as their miasma spreads over the land. 8 NPCS, each with their own distinct personality and skills, ally themselves with the player to help build a legend, and quell the evil that has arisen. As you grow stronger together, so do the bonds binding you to each other.

I actually tried playing Onigiri a long time ago. I quite liked the game. It was similar to Monster Hunter, so that’s why I tried the game. The only thing why I stopped playing is because of the lag. My laptop can’t really handle the game too well, so as a result, I stopped playing the game, leaving the story for me to be unknown. If by chance that I get a high-end laptop, I’ll think of playing Onigiri again. Now that it’s getting an anime adaptation, I can know more of the story. Though, some anime adaptation of games tend to have a different story, I hope that this one sticks to the story of the game (well, I don’t really know the story of the game).

Cytus – Game Review

In the distant future, the only sentient beings in the world are robots.

They are the last remnant of the human spirit.

However, mankind is not dead.

Technology exists that is capable of transferring memories to these robots.

But with limited space, new memories will gradually overwrite the old.

To prevent the emotions in human memories from fading away, the robots resorted to converting the emotions to music, and storing them in a place called Cytus.

The robots use these songs to experience human emotion and dream that souls exists in each of them…

Cytus is a music rhythm video game developed by Rayark Inc. It currently features 200 songs and two difficulties for each song. Cytus is available on iOS and Android. The iOS version was released in January 12, 2012 while the Android version was released on April 5, 2012

System Requirements

Requires iOS 6.0 and up. It is said to be optimized for iPhone 5 and iPod Touch.

Android 2.3 and up, 971MB+ free space in device, CPU greater than 1GHz, RAM with 512MB and 140MB free space in RAM

The gameplay is much similar to osu!. But, I believe that Cytus has a more smoother interface than osu!. Maybe because, in Cytus, you’ll actually touch the notes and makes you feel like it’s more smoother and that you can score the notes easily. It’s really different if you’re playing a rhythm game from a pc to a tablet. For the gameplay, I’ll go with Cytus.

Arts and Sound

This is where Cytus makes the game so great. Though, the songs are limited and it’s only picked, which means you can’t download a song like in osu, the songs are actually really good. Combine it with the awesome art of the game and BOOM!, you got yourself a great rhythm game. I really love the art for every music and also love the music itself. Such a beautiful art and beautiful music. Though most of the soundtracks are japanese, the music is still good.

I played Cytus a long time ago but I stopped playing for a while. Now, I decided to go back to playing Cytus, and just like when I first played Cytus, I got addicted to it. Also, they added more chapters in the game, which means more songs that I haven’t played before. I got addicted to playing this game a long time ago, but it’s still addicting as of today.

If you’re looking for a great rhythm game, you might want to try Cytus. If it’s your first time playing a rhythm game, Cytus is also a good starter. It’s free on Google Play, I don’t know if it’s free on App Store on iOS too. This game is really addictive, especially if you’re into rhythm games.

Moment of Truth

Himouto Umaru-chan - Episode 06 - Umaru thumbs up

Earlier this morning was finally the submission of our assignment. As I entered the school gate, I noticed one of the class B’s student making a flag. I assumed that they haven’t finished their flags yet. Then other students came and I caught a glimpse that the class B students were in a certain area. Maybe, they’re finishing the flags but I didn’t really look at what they’re doing because I don’t really care if they finished the flags or not.

Submission time and it went all good. Both classes did their assignment and got to submit the flags. I’m glad and at the same time, I felt relieved that both of the two classes did their work. So, I’ll just leave what happened two days ago in the past. Maybe there’s still some grudge that still lurks inside me, but it’ll soon go away eventually.
