It is confirmed that a live-action film adaptation of Naoshi Arakawa’s Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso/Your Lie in April music-themed school manga is in the works for a 2016 release. 17-year-old Suzu Hirose, who is also cast as Chihaya Ayase in the upcoming two Chihayafuru live-action films, will play the heroine Kaori Miyazono, alongside 20-year-old Kento Yamazaki as the male protagonist Kousei Arima.
The manga was serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine from May 2011 to March 2015, then compiled in 11 tankobon volumes. A-1 Pictures produced a 22-episode TV anime series aired from October 2014 to March 2015. Though the two main characters are junior high school students in the original manga story, due to the actors’ real age, they are changed to second grade high school students in the film.
So, one of the most feels anime that I watched is getting a live-action adaptation. I have one thing to say, I hope that the actors will capture the feels and make the live-action really emotional. But I feel like this live-action would actually be a good one. It doesn’t matter if they don’t look like the character that they are playing the role as, what’s important is they capture the personality of the character that they are acting. Y’know the one that would make us feel the feels.
That’s all I have to say. The date, hmmmmm, I haven’t got any information about the premiere date but it will be released this coming 2016. Soooooo, we have a lot of time to get ready, a lot of time to get ready for the feels again. Looking forward to seeing the live action of Feelgatsu wa Kimi no Uso, I mean Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. All aboard the feels train!
