“It’s not how much time you have, it’s how you use it.”
Ekko is an assassin type champion who’s job is to kill the squishiest enemy. For example the ADR/ADC of the team (Vayne,Ashe,Draven,etc.). Ekko relies on his Ability Power, the larger the Ability Power, the stronger his skills will become. He is a melee type champion.
Passive: Z-Drive Resonance. Every third hit on the same target deals bonus damage and saps the target’s movement speed. If the target is a champion, Ekko gains accelerated movement speed.
Very useful if your target is running away from you, the bonus movement speed will come in handy to catch up with your opponent.
1st Skill: Timewinder. This is his primary source of harassment. Ekko throws a device that deals magic damage to enemies it passes through. It expands into a slowing field on the first champion or minion hit, slowing everything inside. It then returns to him after a delay dealing magic damage to all targets hit upon return.
If you are playing as Ekko, make sure to use Timewinder if there is a champion not just for farming creeps because it costs a lot of mana.
If you are playing against Ekko, make sure to dodge this skill as possible because not only it will deal you damage but it will also slow you, making you vulnerable for attacks. The 2nd hit of Timewinder deals a lot of damage than the 1st, so try to avoid it as possible.
2nd Skill: Parallel Convergence. Ok, this skill has many uses.
Passive: Ekko’s basic attacks deal bonus magic damage to enemies under 30% of health equal to 5% of of their missing health.
Active: After a 3 second delay, Ekko creates a short-lived chronosphere at the target location that slows enemies who enter by 40%. If Ekko enters the sphere, he will detonate it, gaing a shield that absorbs damage for 2 seconds. Enemies caught inside the sphere are stunned for 2.25 seconds.
You can see a clone beside Ekko if Ekko will cast Parallel Convergence, try to guess where the zone will be placed.
3rd Skill: Phase Dive. Ekko dashes a short distance in the targeted direction. His next attack will deal bonus magic damage and teleport him to his target.
This skill comes in handy to easily kill an enemy. However this skill has lots of risks. Make sure that there are no enemies that will interrupt you if you plan to kill a squishy enemy.
When you are playing against Ekko, if you see him coming towards you, it would mean that he will Phase Dive to you. Be alert as possible and know when he will Phase Dive to you.
Ultimate Skill: Chronobreak. Makes Ekko invulnerable and untargetable, and teleport him back to wherever he was 4 seconds ago. Ekko heals himself for 100/150/200+ 20/25/30%(+0.033 Ability Power) of the damage taken over the last 4 seconds ago and deals magic damage to all nearby enemies on arrival.
Be careful when facing against Ekko when he has his ultimate. You can determine if he has his ultimate if he has a clone following him around. It would be really dangerous if Chronobreak hits you as it will deal a ton of damage.
Chronobreak can be used as a potent escape tool, but can also be quite powerful when used offensively.
Playing as Ekko:
Wait for your team to initiate a clash and always attack after the clash has started so the enemy team can’t focus on you.
Try to avoid using Chronobreak as a tool for letting yourself survive but letting your team mates die (well it’s not your fault if they can’t time travel).
Even when you reach late game you are still a little squishy, so try to build an item that adds your health. For example Rylai’s Crystal Scepter.
Playing Against Ekko:
Ekko is really squishy early game, so take advantage of that before he reaches level 6.
He relies more on getting closer to you, so stunning him will prevent him from using his skills.
Try not to underestimate Ekko when he is on low health because he can easily kill you if he has his ultimate.
Some people say he is too OP(Over Powered), well he is a little OP, I can agree but you can easily counter him if you have crowd control effects.
In a clash try to eliminate Ekko as soon as possible so he will not deal a ton of damage to your team, because his ultimate can easily kill all of your team mates if Ekko is really fed late game.
